Fourth Of July Star Candy Pops

Updated: Jul 6, 2020

Fourth of July is next week and what do you have planned for dessert?

This is a super kid-friendly dessert that your mini bakers may actually enjoy making more than eating- depending on the kid that is;) And a fun 4th of July dessert to have everyone of all ages help out with!

It is a very simple recipe that will make all your guests happy for their viewing and tastebuds- yummm!

All you need is a few ingredients and just a few supplies:

Parchment paper or wax paper

First melt all three of the candy melts in separate smaller bowls or ramekins.

Follow the instructions on the back to make sure you’re not overheating the candy melts.

Get a baking sheet, depending on how many you will make. Add a sheet of parchment or wax paper.

Place the star cookie cutters evenly apart where there is enough space between each other.

Take a small spoonful of each mixture and place it inside the cookie cutter. Use one of the lollipop sticks or another similar tool and start swirling around the colors. After doing the first one, you may use more of one color over the over. I’ve used the same amount for all 3 colors and you can see the results from my candy pops.

Make sure you spread the melted candy evenly inside the cookie cutters, don’t forget to get into the corners!

This is where it gets a little tricky. These candy melts get hard pretty fast, so I suggest leaving the cookie cutter in place for about 7 minutes. Then take the cookie cutter out and place the stick in the bottom center of the star. After the stick is added place the baking sheet in the freezer for another 10 minutes or overnight. Depending when you need them.

These will make a great addition to the dessert table and as party favors.

A fun and easy way to get your mini baker to help out in the kitchen, Happy Fourth of July!
